On Pregnancy and Giving Birth

One of the mommy bloggers in our online group once said that she wanted to prepare for baby #2. I replied that I wanted to have baby #2 as well but our family is still young and I know my husband and I are not yet ready for that. Plus we talked about getting a house first before expanding our little family.

Don’t get me wrong, I love being pregnant and cherished those months that I was carrying my child inside me. I love the feeling of being able to nurture and create such a life in my womb. Though I had difficulties during my the first trimester, it was smooth sailing with the rest of the months that I was pregnant.

Giving birth is a different story though. I had a long painful labor and they had to induce me. I woke up without knowing that I had safely delivered my child. I immediately missed my baby bump.

Did you know that 1 out of 5 births are induced? It’s amazing what kind of information you’ll find in the internet. I am also part of the statistics. The average age of women giving birth to their first child is 25 years old. I was 25 years, 9 months and 2 weeks old when I gave birth to Una.
