O hai there! It’s been a while I know but Mommy have the sniffles and was down for the past few days. I still have the itchy nose and I hope it gets better.
But enough of my sick self. I’d like to tell about our stargazing trip last month. I know super late post, but bear with me please.
In celebration of the 2012 National Astronomy Week, Philippine Science Centrum and SkyXplore held a stargazing activity last February 23rd. Skywatcher telescopes were provided for free by the cool people SkyXplore.
SkyXplore, the pioneering state-of-the-art science road show program in the country that focuses on Astronomy, through its Astronomy Awareness Program endorsed by the Department of Education, is committed to empower and educate your institution and its students in uncovering a Universe that is vast, varied, beautiful and living through the only available mobile digital planetarium in the Philippines
SKYXPLORE Astronomy Awareness Program includes the following activities
Activity 1: Space Dome (Mobile Digital Planetarium)
Activity 2: Film Showing
Activity 3: NASA Space Photos and Meteorite Exhibit
Activity 4: Ask-An-Astronomer

Prof. Edmund Rosales of SKYXPLORE (Astronomy Awareness Program) answering the questions of the crowd and pointing at a passing of satellite. Notice how fascinated the crowd is? His lectures were very informative, both adults and kids are asking him questions left and right. This is a great of way of encouraging kids and students to learn astronomy.
