Saizen’s Weekend Promo 5+1

For those who are not familiar with Saizen is the original (meaning authentic from Japan) Daiso or 100 Yen store here in the Philippines. I love how cute the items sold in Saizen are.

Last week, DK and I went to Robinson’s Galleria to watch Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It was a nice movie but didn’t get to enjoy much because the cinema house in Galleria is blah. Anyway, after watching that, we went to Saizen to buy a corner protector for our office table. Yes, we are building our home office — also known as our office/computer corner. One of the drawers in the table has a pointy edge and we can’t have that with a toddler around.

I know Japanese people are big on baby proofing their homes so I immediately thought of looking there for a corner protector. Lucky us, not only did we find what we are looking for, Saizen also have a weekend promo. For the whole month of July, you’ll get a free item for every 5 items bought on weekends. What we bought:

On photo, L to R: fishing toy, mouse pad, white board marker, corner protector, white board, cork board, A4 file case/organizer

I know that’s 7 items but we only paid for 6 of them. I cannot wait to setup the white board and cork board to the wall.

How to choose the right bicycle for your kids

Tips on choosing the right bicycle size for your kids.

Kids are getting more and more advanced with their toys. There’s the handheld game consoles, computer games and iPad games. While these gadgets help the kids with their thinking ability, we should not disregard their need for physical play.

Bicycles are just one of the traditional toys that kids — no matter what generation they are — would love to have. But choosing the right bicycle for your child is not as easy as going to the store, choosing a color and paying for it.

Here are some tips on how to choose the right bicycle for your kids:

Location. Before anything else, make sure that you have the perfect location where kids can practice their biking. Is your street always heavy with traffic? That’s probably not a safe place to learn how to bike. Is there a park nearby? Remember, children’s safety is always a priority.

Safety Gears. Find the right helmet for your kids. It is important that the helmet fits the head properly. Knee pads and elbows pads are also recommended, keep tight and secure.

Bike Size. Bikes for children are measured by the size of the wheels.  Take your child with you when shopping a bike. Make sure that the child can comfortably sit on the bike and have his/her feet flat on the ground when straddling it. Had them hold the handlebars and pedal their bikes to see if their knees are not hitting the handlebars. Test the breaks, always. Training wheels are also recommended for kids under 4 years of age.

Protecting our gadgets

So, I have a new gadget! We were planning on buying a desktop PC because it is faster and more efficient when it comes to working with documents and creating invitation layouts. But we encountered some car trouble recently and the money reserved for buying the new computer was spent to fix the car. Hubby decided to buy a netbook instead. That way we have a new laptop that I can use with my projects and the old laptop will be shared by him and Una.

Now all I need is a protective sleeve for my netbook and I can bring it anywhere I go. We briefly looked for options in the mall earlier today but sad to say that what caught my attention were covers for ipad. It’s so cute yet really useful. Did you know that there are water-resistant protective cases for iPad? Oh, the wonders of technology! I wonder if I could find something like that for netbooks. All I see are sleeves with colorful prints but not protective covers like the iPad covers.

Do you know where I could find protective cases like that?
