Out of all the Japanese food that are available locally, katsu or fried cutlets are our family’s favourite. It’s simple and let’s be honest, you can’t really go wrong on breaded meat. My husband is a fan of Tonkatsu or pork cutlets. Whenever we dine on Japanese restaurant, he always go for that one, sometimes he would try a teppanyaki or teriyak but most often than not, he would order a Katsudon or a rice bowl with tonkatsu topping. My daughter and I are more into chicken. So when I learned of Bounty Fresh’s new gourmet ulam called Top Torikatsu, I was stoked! Tori katsu means chicken cutlet, finally, no more chicken nuggets for us, especially my daughter.
I love cooking katsu but the three step breading is really messy, that’s why I seldom cook it at home. As much as we love dining out, paying for twice or even thrice the amount of cooking katsu at home is quite heavy on our budget. That’s why I am so glad that Bounty Fresh made it easy for busy moms like me. No need to tenderize the chicken, no need to lay out a 3-step breading process to make it uber crunchy. Top Torikatsu made it all easy as 1-2-3. Thaw, cook and serve!
Top Torikatsu Classic. Please excuse my poor food presentation, my daughter is hungry.
I am so thankful that the love of my life knows me so well. Not only does he loves me so much but he also knows what gifts to give me.
Nope, this woman didn’t receive any diamonds or fancy jewelry from dear husband, but who cares? I love my gifts and I really appreciate them. DK knows what I really love. If it’s within our budget then my wish is his command. He’s like my personal genie. I love you DK!
Earlier this year, he gave me a Panasonic Lumix LX3 for our 8th couples anniversary. It has great picture quality and easy to carry in my bag, perfect for capturing moments and milestones of the little tot. For our 3rd wedding anniversary, he gave me an Asus Netbook, it’s red and you all know how I love the color red. Great for blogging on the go. My Christmas gift came early this year. We filled up 17 Starbucks stickers in a span of one month and claimed the Starbucks 2012 planner earlier today. Perfect for planning family trips, adventures and everyday appointments.
So if you don’t have any clue what to give your special girl this holiday season, check the above gift ideas for her. If she loves functional things, that is.
As for the diamonds, perhaps DK and I can work something like that in the future. After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
I seldom get lucky with raffle prizes but during the Pinay Mommies Community 2nd Grand EB (more info about that later) I won a gift pack from one of our minor sponsors Ainon Baby.

Gift pack from Ai-non: Pocoyo sando and shorts, Smart Babies Romper and Ainon water tumbler
I was so glad that this is the gift pack I won. Una was really excited when she saw the Ainon baby products and she kept on saying “Thank you Mommy!”. She loves Pocoyo and she loves the color yellow. What a perfect coincidence. Oh, and look how she willingly modeled for the Ainon water tumbler.
